The snow storm was a reminder: strength = independence

Living in the Northeast, over the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably seen more snow in one shot than you have in years.

I also noticed something else.

A lot of people on social media were asking for help just to shovel their driveway so they could get their car out.

Many of them were in their 40s, 50s, and 60s.
Some may have had injuries but many simply didn’t have the strength or stamina to do it safely.

That’s why exercise becomes more important as we get older and it’s not about weight loss or looking a certain way.

It’s about independence. Freedom. Capability.

Exercise helps you:

  • walk stairs with confidence
  • carry groceries without strain
  • get up from a chair or toilet easily
  • shower safely
  • keep up with hobbies you enjoy
  • play with your grandchildren
  • get up after a fall without assistance

The question isn’t if strength matters as you age it’s how much independence you want to keep.

If you’re 40+ and still searching for a program you enjoy and can stick with, we’ve opened 2 personal training spots for February at Railroad.
