Easiest Nutrition Tip…

By Coach Shawn

Eat your protein first on your plate.

Build the habit of eating protein first at each and every meal (30-50+grams) before eating anything else.

*I understand some meals all foods are mixed together and that’s not possible at times…apply all meals when possible.

Why Coach?
1. Protein preserves lean muscle tissue.

You work hard in the gym – and yet that is not where you get stronger. Training is tissue breakdown. We need to create breakdown yet the re build occurs in sleep and our nutrition.

Protein re builds, repairs and is why you come back stronger…or struggle to.

2. Fills up your stomach.

So you’ll be less likely to over eat carbs and fats.

Carbs and fats are great and needed. They are also energy.

Excess Un-used energy converts to body fat.

Protein first helps support a natural rhythm.

3. If you eat carbs and fats first you’ll likely undereat protein (which done over and over again is part of what leads to fat gain.)

4. Protein is the powerhouse macronutrient that is supporting your broken down muscle tissue from training to repair, recover and help you get stronger.

5. If you under eat protein this will add to inconsistent performance, strength and recovery in the gym. You’re habits outside the gym are now negating your work in the gym.

The same as if you kept coming in on 2-4 hours of sleep trying to push yourself.

The under-fueled, under recovering body soon catches up and not great things start to occur.

Nutrition does not need to be complicated.

Begin applying, re-applying and at every meal re-committing to eating protein first near 50grams and not only will you

1. See, feel and experience the benefits you want (in your body, in your energy, in your performance…)

2. You will be managing your weight better, consistently and avoid how easy it can be to gain excess weight…

3. Recover and performing better within the gym – supporting continued maintenance of current strength, muscle tissue preservation and steady progress over time.

Lastly – what if i don’t know on the spot if it’s 30-50grams?

Use the size of your palm – as a loose gauge.

1.5-2 palms worth and you’re in the sweet spot.
