From Almost Quitting the Gym – to 7lbs Weight Loss in 1 month – Here’s How Adam Did it.

I Can’t Seem to Find the Time…

Adam was about to cancel his membership.

He looked out into the future months and saw the next few months of his life were picking up going to be busy.

Work was picking up, one his son’s getting married, urgent home projects and other family things.

With a heavy heart he sent in his cancellation email.

Not an easy thing to do.

But he didn’t end up cancelling.

Changing Lanes On The Same Highway

Adam was attending large group classes.

He was loving it. The results, the community, the coaching and the all you have to do is show up and everything else is taken care of.

It made getting fit and healthier fun and an easy thing to do.

Well his upcoming plate load would get in the way of him getting to those classes.

Out of options, Adam thought this was a temporary stop point.

But it wasn’t.

Other Options Available

Instead of simply throwing in the towel, he jumped on a call with one of his coaches to problem solve this together.

To go from regularly working out and moving to nothing wasn’t what Adam wanted.

He could see the writing on that wall if that’s the path he went down.

On the call, his Coach simply adjusted his current fitness prescription.

“You’re busy schedule and upcoming commitments aren’t allowing you to get here to train.

However, you have some things at home. And you have some time where you could train at home.

You also have a desire to lose some unwanted weight and make improvements in your nutrition.

This is simple, let’s transition you for now to Remote Coaching and Nutrition Coaching.”

His Coach would go on to elaborate those in detail.

Adam loved the idea.

Pivot over Quit

Adam loved the idea and he transitioned to 2 different coaching services.

Remote coaching – programming and Coaching where he could perform his training at home.

With weekly feedback and accountability check ins with his Coach.

And

Nutrition coaching.

A once a month in person coaching session, including data from his in body scans on his muscle mass, body fat % and a deeper interpretation of his weight breakdown.

A habit focus approached – with 1 at a time per month to allow proper habit forming and building.

And weekly check ins.

These were two things he could control.

All The Benefits

He could make time at home with what he had available- which cut out his to and from travel and the hour of class, saving him time yet keeping him on the path to progress, bettering his fitness and overall health.

And his eating.

Adam knew he needed the accountability.

After just a few weeks of his transition, our intern emailed to check in on how he was doing with the transition. Here’s what he said:

“It’s Going well.  I am down about 7 pounds.  Eating lots of protein and getting all the workouts in.

Have to do yesterday’s today…

Thanks for reaching out.

It’s good to have the accountability check ins each week with Erin.”

1 month in Results

Adam has been working with his nutrition coach for 4 weeks in combination with a strength and conditioning program 3x a week, performed at home.

Adam has lost 7lbs

Lost 2% body fat

and

gained one pound of muscle during this time.

In his own words:

“I feel that my energy has been much better. Once my body adapted to the larger amount of protein and food intake everything sort of evened out for me.

I really believe my blood sugar has leveled out.

I don’t feel as hungry anymore, and I am definitely not overeating.

The workouts have been great and I feel confident in completing them at home on my own schedule.

Less stress about getting to the gym and not being able to make it to class.

I just want to keep doing what I’m doing because it feels easy to me now and very manageable.”

Adam has improved already at making better choices, increasing his protein intake dramatically, and sticking to a consistent workout routine throughout the week.

Not Losing Yourself In the Wind Gusts of Life

From almost throwing in the towel for an unknown amount of time, to down 7lbs, feeling great and leveling out his blood sugar – Adam is thriving.

Life changes happen.

Schedules pick up, and we can often tell ourselves I need to quit the gym.

Which isn’t just a “workout.”

That workout is tied to all aspects of how we feel, think, behaviors, choices and ultimately our health and wellbeing.

A better option, in times of busy seasons, like Adam did is pivot.

Where can I make progress?

Where do I need accountability?

Nutrition coaching is helping Adam with eating habits, weight loss and avoiding over eating.

He’s still active – working out and he’s accountable to his coach, 3 days a week.

Which is helping him keep and even put on muscle.

And while life is in a busier season, his health isn’t taking a back seat.

His ability to transition, put in the work and remain an active participant in his health and fitness is paying off big time.

We are proud of you Adam! Keep up the great work, you’re an inspiration.
