10 Questions & Answers with a Semi Private Training Client.

Laurie began her journey with us in January of 2024 when she joined our Nutrition Kickstart.

After meeting the Coaching staff and defying expectations she was interested in beginning training.

In early February Laurie began Semi Private Personal Training, training with 2-3 other people with 1 Coach.

Here are 10 questions we asked her and her responses.


1. How long have you been personal training? 

Laurie: I have been doing the personal training since February 6th, 2024

 2. What is a physical result you achieved you’re really proud of? 

Laurie: I am starting to see my clothes fit better. 

I feel stronger each week and I can get up off the floor better than when I started.

 3. What is a mental benefit/result you cultivated you’re really proud of? 

Laurie: I am proud I am able to show up everyday, put my best foot forward each time and I have been able to accomplish physical things I certainly couldn’t accomplish when I started. 

Makes me very happy and proud of myself!

 4. In working with your coach, what is something you didn’t expect to get but were pleasantly surprised to receive? 

Laurie: Erin is able to see my strengths and weaknesses even among others in the group. 

She encourages me when I need it and I want to make her proud as well as myself.   

She knows when I need a modification but I am always willing to at least try something new.

I feel like we are friends and she wants the best outcome for me and each of us in the group. 

I am not only accountable to myself, but I am accountable to my coach.  She makes the effort to show up at 5:30am and so do I.  She always greets me with a smile and a high five when I leave.

I am pleasantly surprised how well I actually feel like I fit in here.

 5. How has your body changed since you started?  

Laurie: First, I am definitely more mobile. 

Second, I feel so much stronger than I did when I started. 

I  am down almost 25 pounds and I can get around in my everyday life so much better than I was before.  

 6. In what ways has your life outside the gym benefited because of your training? 

Laurie: I can sit on the floor and play with my grandson now.  Going up and down the stairs doesn’t wind me like it used to.  I can carry five gallon water bottles with a lot less effort.

 7. What misconceptions that you or that other people have (or had) about training, CrossFit, personal training do you now know to be different or untrue?  

Laurie: That all sizes and abilities fit in.  I was worried it was a younger person’s gym.  But it seems to cross all ages and abilities.  They meet you where you are at and work towards getting you to where you want to go. 

You don’t need to be fit to start!

 8. What are some of your favorite things about your coach and working with them? 

Laurie: Erin is encouraging and I feel like she pushes us to a reasonable level and she is really proud of us, I know when I worked hard and she knows it too.  

 9. What are you currently working on in the gym?  

Laurie: Working now more with barbells on upper and lower body strength with a bit more cardio.

 10. What drives you to keep coming back?  

Laurie: I FEEL GREAT!  I feel so much better after a workout.   Mentally and physically and I want to learn more.
